Who we are

Children’s Academy High School was started in the year 1961 by Mrs Z.A.H Lalljee at Shivajinagar , where she was to reside , Later on , as the school started growing and the classes increasing , she changed her residence and gave the entire place to the school.

The school flourished in that place and soon the children went for S.S.C exams. Mrs Lallejee herself was the principal for secondary school. After her death Mr Asif Lalljee became the chairman of the society called Friend’s Progressive society.

Mrs P Nambiar , a dedicated teacher became the Principal. She used to look after the school and the students with great care. She became a motherly figure of the school. Many a students passed out through this school. Some became doctors , engineers , teachers , professor and some of them are working in NASA and many of them have earned a good reputation in the society.

After Mrs Nambiars retirement her sister Miss Shanta Nair became principal for primary section and secondary section had various principal like Mr Datta , Mr Joglekar , Mr Contractor and afterward on Mrs Naidu ( Ramnani) became the Principal. The school building was given on rent by Mr Asif Lalljee to Indira Management , the 1st floor was given , later on 2bd floor was given and in year 2000 the staff got the news that full building was to be given in their charge. Admission were stopped for L.K.G and other classes to show natural death of the school.

During this time Mrs Shamshad Shaikh who was the Ex –student of 1975 batch was working in the same school as a teacher since 1982. When she came to known about the school premises being given on rent. She took a step ahead and started her own nursery school named ‘ Small Wonder Education Society’ at Pasalkar Bhavan Shivajinagar Pune 5. This school was started in June 2001.

The people and parents of the school were knowing her and in the first year itself , she got good response for her school. Later the same year Mr Asif Lalljee asked her to take over the entire school as it was a govt – aided school we had togog through many Legal – procedure. Mrs Shama Khot and her advocate husband Mr Prakash Khot met the P.M.C commissioner who at that time helped them out by giving them a P.M.C school building in Kasba Peth on rental basis.

The school was shifted to Kasba Peth in June 2002. The charity – Commissioner , the deputy Director and the Zilla Parishad all gave the permission for the transfer of school. The school was legally transferred from the Friend’s Progressive Society to Small Wonder Education Society. The new Chairperson now was Mrs Shama P Khot ( Shamshad Shaikh ) , who had to shoulder all the responsibilities from now on. . . . . . .

SMALL WONDER EDUCATION SOCIETY

The society was formed by Mrs Shama P Khot in the year 2001. She did all the running about to save the school. In the short span of six month, they were able to get the place for school has been saved from closing down. It survived and with great hardship it has re – again its are increasing as the years are passing.
